Go-to hot drink? When I'm working or at an event I love a proper coffee. However in the evenings or when I'm relaxing or on a Sunday morning with breakfast it has to be a good pot of strong tea. Tea is childhood and home.
What book gets you into the cosy spirit? An book will do, although if its one I've already read it takes less effort. A comfy chair, a lap blanket, thick socks, and candles or an open fire, and any book.
Favourite costume as a child? Aw bless - for years getting dressed for halloween involved a black plastic bag and one of my mother's old lipsticks. Then there was 10p plastic masks with the elastic stapled on, lasted all of 2 minutes. Proof that it wasn't just in Offaly.
What woodland animal do you connect to on an emotional level? Now this one got me google-ing, I ended up on wikipedia, reading about the birds, fish, and mammals of Ireland as I considered my options which included pine martens, deer, butterflies, hare, fox, shrew. (Stoats are nasty, so I'm ignoring them). But my gut reaction is robin, so I'm sticking with that.
Film that gets you in the spooky spirit? NOT a fan of horror, but I do like films with magic. Halloween movies include The Corpse Bride, The Nightmare Before Xmas, Practical Magic, Hocus Pocus and Coco.
Do you fantasise about falling in love with a hot vampire or sickly ghost? No.
The scent you want filling your room? woodsmoke and bubbling stew.
Pick a date- gingerbread biscuit decorating, pumpkin patch, hunting through a book shop, popcorn and spooky films? Bookshop, duh. But first an invigorating walk through the woods, then a spot of book shopping, topped of with ye olde pub vist, hot meat pie with gravy and a beer.
If you were a coffee syrup or spice which would you be? chai tea / latte
Any ghostly encounters? yet to experience anything that can't be explained by creaky houses and heightened nerves.
Favourite time of day during the cinnamon season? That's a hard one; frost sunlit mornings, leaf twirling windy afternoons, or firelit evening meals. I love it all.
